kingofthisworld: (Playing the piano)

[Well, thanks to Midna, Ganondorf now has a piano in his room. And he can be heard playing a rather haunting melody. He doesn't know his communicator is on.]

[So one day, little Lily Worth is wandering the halls with Cat Thing on a leash when she hears piano music. Now, normally Lily would just brush this off as "Oh, Lucy must be playing." But, you see, Lucy is gone, and has been for quite some time. This haunting melody piques her interest, and she gravitates towards a door, half-open, on Deck 7. Cat Thing pulls on her leash and makes awkward noises that should be mewls (but she's merely a skeleton, and skeletons do not have vocal chords, you know?).]

Stop it.

[Lily says to Cat Thing, peeking in the doorway. Oh, look, there's an enormous greenish dark-skinned man seated at a piano. Lily's somewhat disappointed that it's not Lucy, but the moment she realizes she has never met this man before, that disappointment vanishes and is replaced with elation. New friends are such a treat!

With little regard to privacy, as always, Lily pushes open the door and walks into Ganondorf's room. She stands and listens for a few moments, letting Cat Thing paw at the furniture around her.]

Hey, you're really good!

[He was not expecting visitors. And yet, he was not surprised. His door was not locked. As a matter of fact, he wasn't even entirely sure he had shut it completely. He never locked his door either. He doubted anyone was ever truly brave enough to do something to him.

And if they were, then they would be in for a rather painful surprise.

Ganondorf heard the awkward noises faintly below the melody of his playing, but this did not deter him. It was only when he heard the voice of this girl, that he stopped.]

You should learn to knock.

[(Lily would fight Ganondorf if he hurt Kage! But that's unlikely.)

(Surely Ganondorf would not evoke her wrath.)

Oh shit, he's mad. Lily pauses, blinks. Scratches at her scalp. Blinks. Shifts her weight from one foot to the other. Pulls Cat Thing away from Ganondorf's bed, which she was about to sharpen her claws on. Blinks.]

I'm sorry...

[Really, she is. Really.]

... What's your name?

[No, he was not mad. Though he would've been if cat skeleton thing had scratched up his bed. He's more or less a little annoyed at the intrusion.]

It's fine, Child. No need for that look.

[He eyes the cat while answering he question]

Ganondorf. And yours?

[She's heard this before. It's eerie and nostalgic. Zelda may like music, however...

It's the type of melody that makes her feet want to move on their own--and cause her to put her head into the lion's mouth. She knows better, so she'll have to make it a point
not to.]

......?
Everyone is in a musical--

[She pauses.]

Where did you get the piano?

[Play nicely and she just might come to listen.]

I can has hero vs. villian tiems?

[Link is relaxing in the forest when he suddenly hears the familiar music. It makes him freeze out of surprise, and his left hand switch as it yearns to draw the sword that's now gone from hims back.

What... where is it coming from? After a moment, he realizes it's coming from his pocket, and he takes out his communicator to stare down at the speaking incredulously.]

... Who is this? Y-You're broadcasting that to everyone, you know...

[Even though Link asks who it is, he's fairly certain he knows exactly. There's only so many people who'd know that song, much less play it on a piano.]

[He is a little surprised at first at the sound of the distinguishable voice. He stops playing to search out the source. It's then he realizes that his communicator is on.]

It was brought to me from your own Midna. [Pause] I take it you liked what you've heard.

...

[Zelda thinks about this. Does she like it? It makes her think. It makes her remember many things. It makes her flesh crawl a little.]

Well...
One cannot say you do not have talent.

[In other words, yes. Even if Zelda can't figure out why Midna would do that for him. She works in mysterious ways...]

Yes, yes you can >8D

[The music stops abruptly at the sound of the voice. And Ganondorf chuckles.]

Everyone can hear it? Good. It would be quite selfish of me to keep my talents to myself, don't you think?

[He begins to play a lighter tune and he smirks.]

You are welcomed to come and listen, Your Grace. If you are so inclined, of course. Or, if there is something specific you would like to hear, I will gladly play it for you.

[...He's... inviting her to come listen? She supposes she can. Watch him carefully. Don't take any action against him. That's what they've all agreed upon.]

...I can do that.
Where are you staying?

[Oh, good! He's not mad. Cat Thing's wandering towards the bed again, so Lily bends down and scoops her up. Cat Thing fights for a few moments, then settles down in Lily's arms, skeletal head rested on her owner's arm. Lily smiles, first at Cat Thing, then at Ganondorf.]

Oh, I talked to you before! I'm Lily!

[Ugh, it is him. Link sighs. Him, talking about selfishness ...]

Don't you know how to play anything else, at least? Or at least not make everyone listen. That's all I had to listen to the whole time I was in your castle.

Deck seven. Room six-three-seven-one. [A chuckle] I look forward to seeing you, Princess.

Nothing! I mean, you could keep playing? Because I heard it in the hall, and I thought it was real pretty.

[She smiles. Ganondorf is friendly, if a little green.]

So can you?

[The goddesses did this, Zelda decides. They're all staying on the same floor, aren't they? Zelda's never been to Midna's room, but she assumes it's more than coincidence. There's no way she's letting Ganondorf have that information.

She doesn't respond, and wordlessly makes her way to his room. He's not that far from her at all. Well, far from her room, anyway. How unnerving. At his door, she pauses. This is awkward. She's just ensuring he's not up to anything, right? Genuine curiosity? Concern? Potential worry?

Zelda knocks, anxious about what awaits on the other side.]

Hold on! Lemme contemplate this fail a lil bit.

[Play something else? Oh and he knows the perfect thing to play (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v3fBRnyKQrA). Except it's not light and airy like the original, as he is playing it in a lower key. It sounds almost sinister.]

Then tell me, boy, what would you like to hear?
Edited Date: 2009-09-25 10:41 pm (UTC)

xD its okay.

[That makes his blood boil, and he grips his communicator angrily. He has no right to play that song - and especially not playing it and making it sounds like that.

Link can't believe this man isn't his own Ganondorf. He has to be lying about not remembering him... there's just no other way.]

I'd rather hear your stupid song again than listen to you do this to Saria's.

[He has stopped playing altogether as he awaits Zelda's arrival. He's almost skeptical that she will show. Given their previous encounters. Or perhaps she will, if only to 'keep an eye on him', as she had promised.

Her arrival was prompt. And he was surprised. Was she on the same deck as he? Interesting. It would seem the goddesses had destined for them to always be brought together, even if it was not in their own world.

He greets her with a smirk.]

Princess. Welcome.

[There's silence on the other side of that door. Zelda's mind plays tricks on her, considers the number of things he can do, or has the potential to. Dampened magic he may have, just like her, and just like everyone else aboard, but his physical strength should not be underestimated. Ganondorf is not a man to take lightly.

The door opens and there he is, in all of his looming glory. Zelda feels as small next to him as she has since the first time they met. She stares up at him, speechless for a few moments. This is how it feels to look into the eyes of her father's killer? How does she really feel, though? If she's afraid, it doesn't show, but surely she feels an uncertainty.]

Ganondorf.

[It's so strange to talk to him. She inclines her head, out of habit, not out of pure, unadulterated desire.]

You stopped playing?

((OOC: I kind of forgot that he wasn't suppose to know Saria's Song. But I'll play it off all smooth like XD))

[Saria? How familiar that name sounded. Perhaps she was among the many that had opposed him during his first attempt to conquer Hyrule and fell by his sword. There had been so many lives lost then, he could scarcely remember them all. Nor did he care to.

But, it matter to the boy. Salt in a wound, so to speak.]

Is it making you angry? [He continues to play it, slowing the pace slightly.]

From: [identity profile] destinedtorule.livejournal.com
[Zelda was wise to not underestimate him. Even then, even when he had nothing to gain, his mind refused to remain idle. Even then, his first thought was how to gain her piece of the triforce.

She had walked so willingly into this. And how quickly he could turn on her. If he had any desire to do so. But, he did not.

Instead, he stepped aside, allowing her access to his room.]

In preparation for your arrival. I had assumed you wanted to hear another song. If not, I can continue with the first song I was playing.

Of course, Child. [Lily will have to forgive him for calling her 'child'. He very rarely calls a person by name, unless he is mocking them. Or promising to exterminate their descendants.

He resumes playing, a lighter tune he had learned in his youth. Perhaps Lily would enjoy as he had.]

From: [identity profile] oblique-wisdom.livejournal.com
[She's clearly hesitant. She trusts Ganondorf about as far as she can throw him and that is by no means far. He reeks of ill intent. Somewhere. When it happens, she'll be ready for it and she'll be able to say that she knew it would happen all along.

There are things he may not know, however; things that she's aware of and he has yet to realize.]

That was unnecessary. Thoughtful, yet unnecessary.

[Zelda glances around once. If something happens, she's not without those she can call on. Ganondorf's not that foolish, though. She watches him move and shows herself in carefully.]

Is there any particular reason you would play? That song, I mean. Is it a reminder intentionally, or simply something you enjoy?
