Sep. 25th, 2009 03:44 pm[Well, thanks to Midna, Ganondorf now has a piano in his room. And he can be heard playing a rather haunting melody. He doesn't know his communicator is on.]

Date: 2009-09-25 09:49 pm (UTC)You are welcomed to come and listen, Your Grace. If you are so inclined, of course. Or, if there is something specific you would like to hear, I will gladly play it for you.
no subject
Date: 2009-09-25 09:54 pm (UTC)...I can do that.
Where are you staying?

Date: 2009-09-25 10:12 pm (UTC)no subject
Date: 2009-09-25 10:16 pm (UTC)She doesn't respond, and wordlessly makes her way to his room. He's not that far from her at all. Well, far from her room, anyway. How unnerving. At his door, she pauses. This is awkward. She's just ensuring he's not up to anything, right? Genuine curiosity? Concern? Potential worry?
Zelda knocks, anxious about what awaits on the other side.]

Date: 2009-09-25 11:09 pm (UTC)Her arrival was prompt. And he was surprised. Was she on the same deck as he? Interesting. It would seem the goddesses had destined for them to always be brought together, even if it was not in their own world.
He greets her with a smirk.]
Princess. Welcome.

Date: 2009-09-25 11:14 pm (UTC)The door opens and there he is, in all of his looming glory. Zelda feels as small next to him as she has since the first time they met. She stares up at him, speechless for a few moments. This is how it feels to look into the eyes of her father's killer? How does she really feel, though? If she's afraid, it doesn't show, but surely she feels an uncertainty.]
Ganondorf.
[It's so strange to talk to him. She inclines her head, out of habit, not out of pure, unadulterated desire.]
You stopped playing?
no subject
Date: 2009-09-25 11:27 pm (UTC)She had walked so willingly into this. And how quickly he could turn on her. If he had any desire to do so. But, he did not.
Instead, he stepped aside, allowing her access to his room.]
In preparation for your arrival. I had assumed you wanted to hear another song. If not, I can continue with the first song I was playing.

Date: 2009-09-25 11:33 pm (UTC)There are things he may not know, however; things that she's aware of and he has yet to realize.]
That was unnecessary. Thoughtful, yet unnecessary.
[Zelda glances around once. If something happens, she's not without those she can call on. Ganondorf's not that foolish, though. She watches him move and shows herself in carefully.]
Is there any particular reason you would play? That song, I mean. Is it a reminder intentionally, or simply something you enjoy?
no subject
Date: 2009-09-25 11:48 pm (UTC)I always play for my own enjoyment. There is no other need.
[It is not always his intent to instill fear in people. Even if that is almost always the end result.]
Please, sit.

Date: 2009-09-25 11:54 pm (UTC)She rests her hands upon her lap.]
I am interested to know where you learned to play and what other songs you know.

Date: 2009-09-26 12:54 am (UTC)I learned many things in my youth. It was part of my upbringing as the prince of my people.
[Not many cared to ask about his past. They only knew him for his misdeeds. And to be perfectly honest, it surprised him that she had asked. To the point to where he had almost forgotten her second question all together.]
I know many songs native to my homeland. Festive tunes you might enjoy. [And he begins to play one. It is fast paced and perhaps gives a glimpse into the happy people the Gerudo once were.]

Date: 2009-09-26 12:59 am (UTC)When she thinks about it, Zelda's not entirely well-versed with the Gerudo and their culture.]
I see...
[His music is surprisingly uplifting. She can picture his people being festive, however. Nabooru has always struck her as being a bit... outlandish. Or had, anyway.]
I did not think the Gerudo would be so... musically inclined with something like a piano or an organ. I picture them playing string instruments more.

Date: 2009-09-26 02:06 am (UTC)Just don't mention their being slaughter. That'll make him angry.]I chose the piano. It seemed much more sophisticated than the native instruments. I learned to play the organ later on.

Date: 2009-09-26 02:11 am (UTC)Not too long ago Zelda was considering what it would have been like to be born in different times and if perhaps her relationship with Ganondorf would have been different. It's almost like the captain did this intentionally, as though he wanted Zelda to explore those possibilities.
She believes in fate, though, and the idea that Ganondorf may always fall into that villainous footing.]
How... quaint. [She can't seem to think of anything else immediately. It takes her a few moments to continue.] I suppose given your stature that it fits you appropriately. I could not picture you with anything like a... harp, I suppose.
Or an ocarina, for that matter.
no subject
Date: 2009-09-26 02:45 am (UTC)But for now, they were not enemies. There was no struggle for the throne or a Hyrule to fight over. And it should be enjoyed while it lasted.
He laughs when she mentions him with a harp]. Indeed. I am not a woman.
[The ocarina. He almost questioned her about it. But decided against it. It was not relevant. Not now anyway.]

Date: 2009-09-26 02:48 am (UTC)She tips her head to the side, watching him for a moment before giving his room a brief look over. It's as barren as hers was upon her arrival. Of course, her room has changed since then. Will he keep his in such a... lacking style? She's never pictured him having much of that. Style, she means.]
Do you know any other music, aside from the festivities and from that... monstrosity you were playing earlier?
no subject
Date: 2009-09-26 03:26 am (UTC)And as for the room, he does intend to redecorate. He would prefer a little more metal as it suits his tastes. It's cold and sterile.
He answers her final question without a word. He does indeed know another song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqkVc2zh_Eg).]

Date: 2009-09-26 03:31 am (UTC)Her expression contorts and she inclines her head and eyes her hands thoughtfully. It makes her want to return to Hyrule. It makes her miss home. And yet she's stirred by his playing all of the time. Music can be hollow by the player and not by the listener.
Finally she finds the words to speak.]
Where did you hear it? Why do you know that song?
no subject
Date: 2009-09-26 04:22 am (UTC)The castle. I have lived a long time, my dear, and if you walk the halls of the castle long enough, ghosts of the past will show themselves. They have so many interesting secrets to share.
no subject
Date: 2009-09-26 04:28 am (UTC)...Is that so.
[It's not really a question.]
Touching perhaps, however... I have uncertain feelings on how you can play it. And play it well at that.
no subject
Date: 2009-09-26 04:46 am (UTC)[And he speaks like it is the simplest thing in the world. Nevermind he intentionally eavesdropped to learn the mystical properties the song has. He never learned all of it's secrets, unfortunately. For him at least.]
no subject
Date: 2009-09-26 04:49 am (UTC)[She pauses to think about what it is she wants to say.]
Music is more than simply notes inscribed on parchment. It is more than sound coming from strings or through holes. Do you understand what I mean to say?
no subject
Date: 2009-09-26 08:21 pm (UTC)[He is silent for a moment before glancing over at Zelda.]
Do you play, Princess? [And he slides over, making room for her.]
no subject
Date: 2009-09-26 08:54 pm (UTC)...An ocarina, of course...
[Hesitantly she rises to join him, unsure even of what it is she's doing. A hand cautiously rests upon the keys before pressing one down.]
It is not as though I have not seen one before... I would not say I am well-versed.
no subject
Date: 2009-09-28 12:21 am (UTC)Would you like to learn? It is simple enough.
